In meiner künstlerischen Arbeit untersuche ich den Zusammenhang zwischen Denken und (Da-)Sein, nutze hierfür alle Errungenschaften der sich scheinbar immer schneller drehenden Welt und verspüre gleichzeitig eine große Sehnsucht nach Ruhe und Meditation. So verbinde ich während des Schaffens das Experimentieren mit Farbe und Material mit einer meditativen Malweise. Es entstehen sich durchdringende Farbschichten, die mittels großer nahezu monochromer Bereiche überlagert werden.
Neue Arbeiten beginne ich absichtslos, ohne zu wissen wohin mich das Bild führen wird und was ich am Ende für richtig erkläre. Inspiriert von Musik oder Naturphänomenen tauche ich ein in intensive Malprozesse und lasse mich von dem Verhalten von Farbe und Material leiten. Bereits beim Mischen der Farben und Anrühren der Pigmente finde ich Konzentration und Kontemplation. Gedanken des Alltags verflüchtigen sich und es entsteht eine fruchtbare Leere – wo nichts mehr ist, kann etwas Neues entstehen.
Meine Arbeiten sind nicht gegenständlich und wenn auch Assoziationen zu Figurativem oder Gegenständlichem möglich sind, geht es mir dennoch um das Prozessuale, um den körperlichen Akt des Malens, den sinnlichen Prozess des Findens und Gefundenwerdens sowie um das Zusammenspiel der unterschiedlichen Komponenten innerhalb der Malereien.
In my artistic work, I examine the connection between thinking and being (here, now), using all the achievements of the seemingly faster and faster turning world. At the same time I feel a great yearning for rest and meditation. Thus I connect the experimentation with color and material with a meditative painting style. This results in penetrating layers of paint, which are superimposed by means of large, almost monochrome areas.
I begin new works without any intention, without knowing where the painting will take me and what I declare to be correct at the end. Inspired by music or natural phenomena, I immerse into intensive painting processes and let myself be guided by the behavior of color and material. Already at the act of mixing colors and pigments I find concentration and contemplation. Thoughts of everyday’s life disappear and a fertile emptiness arises – where there is nothing left at all, something new can emerge.
My work is non-objective, and even if it has associations with figurative, I am still concerned with the processual, the physical act of painting, the sensory process of finding and being found, and the interaction of the various components within the paintings.
